Our sites have been very successful the last few visits! Our species list is growing dramatically! We switched the Erie Bluff site and what a difference! Our first day there, the 7th, we caught 29 birds (much better than the zero bird days at the previous site!). It is a lovely site on the edge of farm fields, so we hope to get a nice mix of edge and forest species. A further plus is we get great views of migrating raptors overhead! Our second visit to Erie Bluffs on the 11th netted 28 birds, and you can get species info on the list below! Niagara Boat Launch has really picked up; on the 6th we netted 21 birds (13 species). However it was on the 9th, just in time for the bird festival, that the birds decided to show up with a bang, with a total of 59 birds of 16 species! It got a little crazy combining a big banding day and lots of visitors, but everything went really well! Thanks to all who showed up! On the 13th, Niagara Boat Launch yielded another 51 birds. Fry's landing has continued to shine. We netted 52 birds (18 species) there on the 5th, 63 birds (18 species) on the 8th and 75 birds (14 species) on the 12th.
